Our heritage
Rooted in the 1600s
The waters outside Strandis have a story that stretches back centuries. In the 1600s, this stretch of the Ostrobothnian coast was a hub for shipbuilding - large sailing vessels crafted in Kronoby glided past what would become our home.
That spirit of craftsmanship never left. What began as a traditional Finnish smokehouse has grown into a thriving lakeside village - a culinary destination renowned for top-class accommodation and unforgettable food experiences.
Today, Strandis Smokehouse Village brings together a restaurant, artisan smokery, craft brewery, deli, Lakeside Villa accommodation, camping resort, and a one-of-a-kind sauna boat - all connected by a love for the archipelago and its traditions.

120 km~1.5 hours north on road 8 (E8). A natural stop between the coast and northern Finland.
